What to Expect... Families

Before your shoot, I'll need to know how many family members you will be bringing along and their ages. This helps me to get a feel for who I'll be working with and what kinds of shots I'll need to get for you.
Try to find outfits that either match or coordinate really well. Stay away from patterns and bright colors, as these attract attention away from you. We want all focus in the photos to be about your beautiful family, not the patterns on their sweaters!! If wearing pants, please stick to long pants and not shorts!! Shorts tend to draw the eye straight towards the leg, and that's not what you want people looking at in your portraits for years to come.
On the day of the shoot, expect fun. I don't like being a school photographer -- sit here, pose just-so, and say cheese. I much prefer candids because I think they showcase who you are!! For this reason, I may ask you all to stand or sit in a certain area, but past that it's all up to you. Talk to each other, pick on each other, etc. I'll snap away as everyone talks. :) We will get a few posed ones once everyone isn't so worried about saying cheese.
After the shoot, you can expect to see around 10 of my favorites posted right here on my blog for you to steal. These can be emailed to other family members, posted on myspace or facebook, etc. As for the rest of the pictures, it will take me anywhere from 2-7 days to have them completely edited and on my website for ordering.
